For Investors

A track record you can
see for yourself.

Compact Cottages builds attainable, factory-built cottages, ADUs, duplexes, and cottage courts for working families across North Carolina. We'd welcome the chance to talk with you about what we've built so far and where we're headed next.

Track Record

Built, not just planned.

Our leadership team has spent two decades building in North Carolina. That experience, combined with a factory-built process designed for precision and predictable costs, is what's behind every home in our portfolio.

What We Build

One factory-built system, several site strategies.

The same standardized, offsite-built approach flexes across a range of infill and small-footprint housing types, so a site's zoning and lot shape can decide the product, not the other way around.

Cottages

Single-family, primary-residence cottages from 384 to 1,600 sq ft, sited on their own lot.

ADUs

Accessory dwelling units built on the same lot as a primary residence, or on their own lot where zoning allows.

Duplexes

Twin-home builds, like the one pictured below, that put two units on a single footprint and carport.

Cottage Courts

Clustered, small-lot cottage communities built around shared streets and open space - a missing-middle format we advocate for directly in local zoning reform.

Why Compact Cottages

What sets our model apart.

01

A real housing shortage.

North Carolina's affordability gap keeps working families - teachers, nurses, first responders - priced out of the communities they serve. That gap is the demand behind our business.

02

A repeatable, factory-built process.

Homes are crafted in our own factory rather than assembled stick-by-stick on site, giving us tighter construction and more predictable costs and timelines, while meeting or exceeding stick-built codes.

03

Experienced leadership.

Our team is led by a licensed general contractor with more than two decades of building experience, alongside partners with backgrounds in sustainable construction, land planning, and housing advocacy.

04

Policy tailwinds.

Our founder is the former chair of Asheville's Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, and our team works directly with local officials on the zoning reforms that make ADUs, duplexes, and cottage courts possible at scale.
